If you are an eligible SAMBA member, you will be automatically enrolled in to the Express Scripts Medicare PDP for the SAMBA Health Benefit Plan unless you choose to voluntarily opt out. 

The Express Scripts Medicare PDP is designed to reduce your overall out-of-pocket costs related to prescription drug purchases and includes lower copays and coinsurance compared to the Plan’s regular prescription drug benefits.  This new plan, exclusively designed for SAMBA annuitants, also offers better coverage than a standard Medicare Part D plan.  This prescription drug coverage is considered creditable coverage, which means it as least as good as the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage.

There is no separate premium as part of your enrollment into Express Scripts Medicare PDP for the SAMBA Health Benefit Plan and joining will not impact your SAMBA FEHB coverage. Your SAMBA coverage will remain in effect and will not be terminated or suspended.
